Operation Christmas Child: The LAUNCH By Hire Dynamics CATEGORY: Blog POSTED: November 25, 2013 By: Dan Campbell, CEO, Hire Dynamics The holiday season is upon us and at Hire Dynamics, we’re especially excited. This marks the seventh year that we have partnered with Samaritan’s Purse on its Operation Christmas Child project, donating our time and services to help pack gift-filled shoe boxes for underprivileged children all over the world. Since we hold this initiative near and dear to our hearts, I wanted to take the opportunity to share more about Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan’s Purse and our team’s involvement. Operation Christmas Child launched in 1993 and works with local churches and ministry partners to collect items and fill shoe boxes for 100 million boys and girls in more than 130 countries. At Hire Dynamics, we partner directly with Samaritan’s Purse on this initiative by providing the full-time staff to pack these boxes and perform other day-to-day operational needs at a warehouse that Samaritan’s Purse designates in the Gwinnett area. That’s 120 people in total. Last week was designated National Collection Week where people dropped off their donated gifts at one of the Operation Christmas Child collection points across the U.S. Today launched the part of the campaign when volunteers arrive to pack the boxes. This continues daily through Dec. 17. Each year more than 8,000 volunteers from around the country travel to the Gwinnett warehouse to offer a helping hand. Twenty-five members of the Hire Dynamics management team also join the fun each year spending a day volunteering at the facility. (I look forward to sharing more on our volunteer day in the coming weeks.) In 2012, we were thrilled to send out 1.3 million shoeboxes from the Gwinnett location, and in 2013 we plan to exceed that number.
