Overview Base Pay: $31.25 Per Annual Job Number: 1267106 Industry: unavailable Employee Type: TTH Description Job Summary: The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering and managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other employee perks. This role ensures that benefit programs are compliant with legal requirements, cost-effective, and align with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, educate employees on their options, and serve as the point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries. Key Responsibilities: Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FMLA, COBRA, and 401(k)/retirement plans. Serve as the primary liaison between employees, insurance carriers, brokers, and administrators. Assist employees with benefit-related questions and issues, providing timely and accurate support. Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefit enrollment processes to new hires. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS or benefits systems. Ensure benefits offerings are compliant with federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA). Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefit records. Analyze and report on benefit usage, trends, and costs; recommend improvements where appropriate. Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, including communication, system setup, and employee support. Assist with wellness programs and employee engagement initiatives related to benefits. Support audits and regulatory filings as needed. Job Requirements Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Candidates must have experience in the following areas: COBRA administration FMLA administration Benefits open enrollment administration Experience dealing with various forms of worker absences (PTO, disability, etc.).
