Warehouse Management Position Overview

The Warehouse Manager drives efficiency and continuous improvement for a multi-shift distribution center that encompasses safety, inventory control, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping. Lead and encourage the development of the management team and employees by demonstrating a proficiency in operational efficiencies and employee engagement. Set high standards and goals for the distribution center team and ensure that they are achieved. Accountable for P&L performance of assigned business function.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the shipping department in an organized, safe, and sanitary work environment that is in compliance with the Company’s policies, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to optimize labor including automation, optimize inventory management, order fulfillment, and warehouse layout. Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Is responsible for expense management and control, labor and overhead costs utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and a Management Operating Structure (MOS).
  • Monitors and strives to achieve the successful attainment of the Sales to Service Metrics targeted.

Job Requirements

Warehouse Management Job Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, computer-based applications, implementation of WMS systems experience, SAP required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to successfully lead others through change.
