Description

To safely and efficiently operate a single end slasher and create first quality loom beams through following set specification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate a single end slasher machine within production standards.
Inspect yarn shed and creels, meeting set specification requirements.
Make corrections and adjustments to quality and production issues
Wrap and label completed beams

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work safely
Ability to read and write and follow directions
Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
Ability to understand and follow single end slasher operator standard work procedures
Ability to identify and classify defects by combination of visually inspection and measurement with tools.
Ability to pass single end slasher operator tests and become certified by consistently performing standard work as required.
Ability to use and read tools to measure specifications
Ability to compute large numbers with a calculator
Visual ability to see well enough to lay combs.
Basic computing skills including opening files, closing files, manipulating windows, and all basic computer functions.
Good communication skills
MACHINES, TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Single End Slasher Machine, size (soap,) calculator, tension device, scissors, hook knives, measuring tape, Pen, Marker, Tape, Ladder, Yarn, Combs, Beams, Brown Wrapping Paper, gloves, steel toed shoes.

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME: 16 Weeks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

Standing:
Ability to stand while running and inspecting slasher and creels.

90% of day

Moving
Move freely throughout the slasher department, including walking the machine fronts and walking in the creels

90% of day

Lifting:
The ability to install and remove drive dogs.

10% of day

Pull
Ability to pull yarn through creels for a pullover

20% of day

Bending:
Ability to pick up objects from the floor

25% of day

Access
The ability to use ladders. The ability to ascend and descend catwalks.

90% of day

Walking
Ability to walk through the plant to get to work station, meeting rooms, break area, and to perform audits.

10% of day

Visual Acuity:
Ability to see tiny defects in yarn. Perform thorough visual inspection of yarn and yarn shed. Identify large and small defects and correct or document. Read and understand written and computer screens, instructions and specifications.

Environment:
Ability to work around polyester, nylon and acetate

100% of day

Environment:
Ability to work in an unconditioned indoor environment where temperature varies with the weather.

11) Environment:

Ability to follow defined break schedule

Environment:
Ability to work in manufacturing environment around powered material handling vehicles and moving mechanical parts.

Schedule/Attendance:
Must be able to rotate with assigned shifts per work schedule. Must be able to regularly and predictably attend per scheduled hours.
