Job Responsibilities:

The Production Manager will be responsible for all phases of production: from raw material to the final product. This person must be able to effectively plan the work schedule, forecast production schedules 4 to 5 weeks in advance and lead his team to achieve production goals and shipment dates. The production manager must be adept in Microsoft word, excel, and power point in order to create action plans, training procedures, and CAP reports.

Training: Procedures always need to be written or revised to keep up to date. The production manager has to be able to write procedures for their area in a timely manner and make sure all employees are properly trained and signed off on.

Quality: The production manager is responsible for the quality of the finished product. This would include pallet quality, box integrity, packaging, and the quality of the product itself (pillows, body pillows, and bean bags). The quality team reports to the production manager. The production manager must ensure that pre-audits of products are done, tracking of defective materials, sample requests, creating SOPs for new products, and that during production quality audits are being performed and documented.

Payroll: The production manager is responsible for hours worked by their employees. At the end of each period they must review the hours worked and approve them. This would be full-time employees as well as the temporary employees.

Machinery: The production manager should have a basic understanding of how machinery works. The manager must work in conjunction with the maintenance manager to make sure PMs are being performed on a regular basis. It is critical that any damage to the machinery is reported immediately and that any items that are safety related are addressed immediately, (ex.. panel doors open or blocked, damaged doors to cabinets, sensors etc.).

Responsibilities:
Move product, pull merchandise, fills daily orders, and controls workflow while operating moving equipment in a safe and correct manner.
