‘Tis the Season: Hire Dynamics Partners with Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child By Hire Dynamics CATEGORY: Blog POSTED: December 11, 2017 Over a hundred nations. Thousands of volunteers. Millions of shoeboxes. For eleven years in a row, Hire Dynamics has volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, which brings joy to children across the globe. This international relief organization provides local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities. Samaritan’s Purse ships these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; as well as distributing packages to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. Hire Dynamics and Operation Christmas Child run on Dunkin. The HD Charlotte team provided coffee and donuts for over 50 of the Operation Christmas Child staff members. Senior Account Manager Terri Craft notes, “Samaritan’s Purse is such a great organization and we are proud to serve them in Charlotte. Our talent candidates help to pack boxes of surprise and delight for children worldwide. We are grateful to help in a small way. Shout out to Kristen MacCurdy and her team at Samaritan’s Purse in Charlotte for working so hard!” Shoeboxes are packed with small items like stuffed animals, bar soap, pencils, bouncy balls, toothbrushes, and crayons by individuals and community organizations and then collected at local drop-off sites the third week of November. The gifts are then inspected and sealed in regional processing centers around the U.S. The 2017 processing season is November 21 through December 16, with volunteers sorting through shoeboxes in shifts of two-four hours. Each parcel is labeled for either a girl or a boy, ages 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. This year, Operation Christmas Child collected more than 9.6 million gifts—many to be delivered to children who’ve never received a gift before.
