Metro Atlanta’s September jobless rate was an unexpected and welcome contradiction to Georgia’s overall unemployment rate. With the lowest jobless rate since 2000 at 2.9%, metro Atlanta also added 1,500 jobs, marking the second September expansion in more than a decade. Given the low unemployment rate, Atlanta-area workers now have increased leverage with employers.
In a conversation with the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Michael Kanell, Hire Dynamics’ Executive Vice President Kim Wallace described the tactics companies are using to attract and retain top talent.
